There will not be any trophy parade for Manchester United, but it is customary for teams to do when they win a trophy. However, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is of a different opinion. The Dutch manager believes mass celebration will only occur if the Red Devils win at least 2 trophies in the season.

Manchester United takes on Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday where the Reds are tipped favorites to win the silverware. As per reports, the Dutch manager has communicated to his staff that he will take part in the victory parade at the end of the season, only if the team wins 2 trophies.

Silverware has evaded the Manchester giants for years. The last time the club won a trophy was back in 2017 when Jose Mourinho guided the team to lift the UEFA Europa Cup after beating Ajax in the finals.

Manchester United previously had an open bus parade through the streets of Manchester back in 2013 when the club lifted the trophy in the last year under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson. However, United’s most famous open bus parade took place in 1999 when Manchester United completed the treble after winning the Champions League, Premier League, and the FA Cup.

Ahead of the upcoming game, Erik Ten Hag said, “It (being in four competitions) is not success but the road to success. It’s only success when you win trophies. On Sunday we have an opportunity to have a success.”

“We have a squad we use and when we play four competitions we need a squad, you can’t do it with 11 players — both from the load point of view but also the tactical. (Newcastle) is a great team, a clear philosophy about how they want to play the game. They’re an annoying team to play against, so we have to find a way to win. They try to annoy you. We have to play our game and focus on our game,” he added.

Ten Hag also confirmed French forward Anthony Martial remains out injured and will not take part on Sunday
