Sami Zayn did his best during the Elimination Chamber bout against Roman Reigns. Unfortunately, the Montreal Local Boy failed to win the match despite several attempts, leaving his title spot at WrestleMania unclear. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes has continued to do his best against Roman Reigns ahead of their WrestleMania match.
Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio mentioned about WWE creative team being concerned during WWE Raw. He mentioned Sami Zayn’s chants continued during the American Nightmare’s promo which might affect the Road to WrestleMania for Reigns vs Rhodes.
“The stuff with Cody and Heyman – they (WWE) were very concerned about Sami chants, which is one of the reasons why they got Heyman out there in seconds.
They did not want Cody in there by himself because they thought that – it didn’t happen – but they did everything in their power to make sure they kept that moving, they did not allow the audience a chance to start chanting or anything like that, it was just back-and-forth. It was designed to give the audience no chance to chant because of the feeling that if they did it would hurt Cody’s momentum.
And perhaps it would, and then it could create that groundswell (for Zayn) which is exactly what they don’t want right now.”
However, Sami Zayn being out of the title picture, many fans have constantly supported him for a title push on the main roster. That being said, WWE has to come up with a plan to bring Zayn on the WrestleMania card.
