IND-W vs AUS-W: Jhulan Goswami – Legendary India cricketer Jhulan Goswami has urged Harmapreet Kaur-led side to play extraordinary cricket if they have beat mighty Australia in the T20 World Cup semi-final. India will take on the Meg Lanning side in the summit clash on Thursday (February 23). The Women in Blue have reached the semis of the T20 World Cup four times, but the elusive Trophy have eluded them. Australia have been the biggest thorn in the flesh for India, and Goswami has warned Kaur & Co to not be in two minds while facing the champions Australia. “We all know how strong a team Australia are, having won the T20 World Cup five times. There’s immense depth in the side with almost all their bases covered, so India have to play extraordinary cricket to beat them. But having said so, it’s still possible for India to beat them and reach the final,” the former India pacer and captain told The Telegraph on Tuesday.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Why Jhulan Goswami has warned India to not play with two minds against Australia?

· Australia have played a ruthless brand of cricket for the past five years. Even since that loss to India in the Women’s World Cup in 2017, they have shown sheer dominance.

· In this edition of the T20 World Cup, Australia have won four matches on the bounce and have hardly broken a sweat.

· The Meg Lanning side also have beaten India 4-1 in the bilateral T20 series in the sub-continent and have an edge.

· Jhulan wants India to keep things simple and wants Kaur & Co to handle pressure situations well.

· The former pacer feels remaining calm in such situations will help India counter Australia well.

“All that these girls need to do is keep things as simple as possible and be clear in their minds about what needs to be done during critical phases. You can’t be in two minds during such periods. Even in a pressure situation, if you feel you need to hit the ball, just hit it. Don’t flinch,” Jhulan, mentor and bowling coach of Mumbai Indians in the inaugural Women’s IPL, said.

India have faced Australia 30 times in T20Is and have only won seven times. In the last edition of the T20 World Cup, India faced heartbreak in the final at the MCG. Revenge will be on the minds of Harmanpreet Kaur & Co as they aim to breach past Australia.
