Duck in 100th Test: IND vs AUS Delhi Test – India batter Cheteshawar Pujara failed in his historic 100th Test match and was dismissed for a duck by Nathan Lyon. Pujara, who was only the 13th Indian player to appear in 100 Test matches, was caught LBW by Lyon in the 20th over at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi after failing to get off to a good start. Rohit was dismissed first by the Australian spinner before Pujara was sent back to the pavilion. With this dismissal, Pujara joined the ranks of Dilip Vengsarkar, Allan Border, Courtney Walsh, Mark Taylor, Stephen Fleming, Brendon McCullum, and Alastair Cook as the eighth player to suffer a duck in his 100th Test match.
Cheteshwar Pujara 100th Test: On Day 1, Pujara’s 100th Test match, the Indian and Australian players presented him with a Guard of Honour. As Pujara entered the field, the players cheered for him and gave him a standing ovation. Prior to the game, India legend Sunil Gavaskar gave the 35-year-old his 100th cap.
Usman Khawaja and Peter Handscomb each scored vital half-centuries in the first innings to help the visitors reach 263. In the Indian bowling assault, Mohammad Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin stood out. Shami took four wickets, while Ashwin and Jadeja both took three.
