‘B*tc*’ Islam Makhachev: Alexander Volkanovski reveals an intriguing UFC 284 conversation
In a recent interview with MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Alexander “The Great” went into great depth regarding the battle during which he revealed what he told Makhachev while they were engaged in combat. For those who are unaware, Volkanovski came into the battle as a significant underdog, but he gave him everything that made Makhachev somewhat struggle with.
During the recent chat, Helwani asked about the 4th round incident when Volkanovski was talking to the corner given he was warned repeatedly that Makhachev would probably destroy him with his grappling. But as he showed what he got he decided to taunt him.
Talking about the conversation, he stated, “It’s getting in his head. Look at you eh! I’m gonna walk in the park. You strangle me in the deep waters you’re just trying to survive.
“And you talking about deep waters you’re just hanging on to the lifeboat, hanging on that little life-saving donuts, hanging up getting air out of the water, you know what I mean. You’re just hanging on for dear life. While I’m sitting there calling him, ‘Come on, you little b****’.”
Volkanovski is not the Aussie who is known to mock the opponent. To get Makhachev’s attention and let him understand why he is one of the best MMA fighters, he made the decision to do it during the fight. Meanwhile, Volkanovski suggested a rematch between the two fighters on Twitter.
