Why has Pat Cummins returned home? According to a NewsCorp report, the 29-year-old has travel to Sydney for a couple of days. He is expected to return to India ahead of the third Test in Indore. The 3rd Test of series gets underway on Wednesday, March 1.

India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Sunday after defeating Australia by six wickets in Delhi. Cummins played as the sole quick in Australia’s XI in Delhi. He did not bowl in the fourth innings of the match. India easily got to Australia’s target of 115 to wrap up the Test inside three days. Cummins has taken three wickets at 39.66 in the series to date.
If Cummins misses the test, in all likelihood Steve Smith will lead Australia in Indore.
