Eoin Morgan Retirement: Morgan leaves behind a wonderful legacy, transformed England into one of the best white-ball sides

Insidesport

Undoubtedly Morgan leaves behind a wonderful legacy. The 39-year-old took over from ODI captaincy in 2015, and completely changed the dynamics of the game. He made England into a fearless white-ball side and also broke the Trophy drought for the side when it won the 50-over World Cup for the first time.

Morgan retires from the game as England’s top run-score in ODIs amassing (6,957), most T20I runs for England (2,458), and most sixes for England in both formats.

Morgan, who made first played for Ireland in 2006 before being called up to play for England in 2009, played 248 ODIs and 115 T20Is, scoring 10,159 runs in total. He has also played in 16 Tests, scoring 700 runs. After retirement, Eoin Morgan is set to do commentary duties. The southpaw was seen in that captaincy during England’s few home games in 2022.

Also, Morgan has also expressed his desire to coach the T20 franchise team. Since he was actively involved in playing different leagues, the former England captain feels he could have an impact as a coach.
