Nate Diaz unhappy with Islam Makhachev’s win over Alexander Volkanovski
With the victory against Volkanovski in a five-round thriller, Makhachev’s winning run will now stand at 12 fights. He will likely take over Volkanovski’s former pound-for-pound crown. Islam was, though, shaken and knocked to the ground by Volkanovski during the fight, so it wasn’t all plain sailing for him. Additionally, the Australian successfully executed powerful ground strikes while controlling Makhachev from the top position.
Nate Diaz, a UFC legend, tweeted Volkanovski his congratulations before the results were announced. Because he believed Volkanovski had done enough to clinch a historic victory in front of his fellow Australians.

A short while afterward, he returned to social media to express his surprise at Makhachev’s victory (48-47, 48-47, and 49-46). The former UFC fighter claimed that he had been “whooped” by the UFC’s finest fighter regarding strength-to-weakness. Islam “had his a** whooped,” Diaz wrote.

Makhachev seemed incredibly battered and sliced up at the UFC 284 post-fight press conference. The reporters informed Islam of Nate’s most recent blast across the bow. And in response, the Dagestani said that Diaz’s perception of the bout might have been tainted by his cannabis use.
