Ravi Ashwin breaks records after records in Nagpur
The five wicket-haul in Nagpur took some time coming, but it finally arrived. Ashwin last five-fer came against England in March 2021. After close to a gap of two years, Ashwin bagged his maiden five-wicket haul. What made the Nagpur Test special for Ashwin is that he also completed 450 wickets in Test cricket in the 1st innings. He removed Australian wicket-keeper batter Alex Carey to become the second fastest bowler to 450 Test wickets.
Ashwin will remember the Nagpur Test with a smile on his face in years to come. His next target would be to equal Anil Kumble’s big record in the days to come. If he continues to bowl the way he did in Nagpur, that day too isn’t far away either.
