India got a perfect start as Mohammed Siraj scalped the wicket of Usman Khawaja off his first delivery. Situation turned bad to worse for the Aussies when Shami came back for his second over and took the wicket of Warner. The left-handed batter played inside the line of the ball as his stump were sent cartwheeling.
Warner’s record in India is also not too impressive. He only average 24.25 across 16 TEST innings (eight Tests across the 2013 and 2017 series). He only has three half-centuries with a top score of 71. The left-handed batter failed to get going in the first innings of the match and will want to make a comeback in the second innings.
After losing two back-to-back wickets, Australia will try to stabilize with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne leading the charge for Aussies. However, it won’t come easy as the spin trio of Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin will not be easy to face on the turning track of Nagpur.
