The four-match Test series between India and Australia is important on account of the World Test Championship 2021–2023 cycle. India is in second place on the WTC points chart, trailing only Australia. To advance to the WTC championship game, the Men in Blue must win the series.

The first Test will kick-off on February 9 at the Nagpur, Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. The second Test will be held in Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium from February 17 to 21. The third Test will take place from March 1 to March 5 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, and the fourth Test will take place from March 9 to March 13 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
