IND vs AUS – Australia Camp Bangalore – David Warner is determined to make a mark in Test cricket in India. Despite his exploits in IPL, he hasn’t quite delivered the goods in whites in India. In what could be Warner’s last time in India in Test jersey, he is ready to leave his legacy. Warner is practising some insane batting drills in Australia’s Alur Camp to prepare for Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He tried his hands as a right-hander, switching from the left against net bowlers as well as throwdown specialists. Follow India vs Australia LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

“This will most likely be my last year of my international career. I have got my sights set on the 2024 T20 World Cup as well. So finishing in the Americas, that would be nice to top it off with a win over there, pending selection,” Warner told Sky Sports in an interview.

It’s not that Warner has had a lean patch against India. He has scored 1148 runs in 34 innings at an average of 33.76. But when it comes to India in India, Warner has only managed 388 runs in 16 innings at a lowly average of 24.25.

However, leftie Warner is now trying to play right in order to hit form in India. But it’s not the first time he has done something like this. He tried batting right-handed in the nets in Pakistan and even successfully hit Chris Gayle for a few boundaries in Bangladesh Premier League in 2019.

But against the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, it will not be an easy task. Warner doesn’t have great records against spinners in Test in India.

“The extra motivation for me is winning in India and completely winning a series in England. I’ve been told by the coach and the selectors they would like me to be there. Was there doubt? Of course, there was doubt in my mind but for me, it was about going out there and knowing that I’ve still got that hunger and determination because every time I rock up to training, I’ve got it,” David Warner said.
