IND vs NZ PITCH Report – IND NZ 3RD T20 LIVE: At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the third and final T20I match of the three-match series will be played between India and New Zealand. And the discussions centred on the “nature” of the pitch have dominated the lead-up to the crunch clash. India tied the series 1-1 after winning the second T20I in Lucknow. A win in Ahmedabad will help both India’s victory in the series and the hosts’ maintain the number one T20 rank. Follow India vs NewZealand T20 LIVE with InsideSport.IN
How is the matchday pitch?
Ajit Agarkar and Danny Morrison say the pitch will get better as the match progresses. There are a few brown spots on the surface but there are some nice coverings of grass. The ball will come on the bat well for the chasing team. It is a no brainer to bowl first. Expect 170-180 to be the score.
In the first T20I in Ranchi, New Zealand spinners outperformed their Indian counterparts and thrashed India, prompting Indian skipper Hardik Pandya to voice his “shock” and “astonishment” at the pitch’s characteristics. Then only 200 runs were scored on the Lucknow field at the Ekana. India struggled to reach the required score of 100 and won in 19. 5 overs. Pandya once more referred to the wicket as a “shocker of a pitch.”

The strip at Motera however is expected to be batting-friendly.
“170-175 runs will be a good target at Narendra Modi Stadium,” said Pitch curator.
The newly built stadium, which can hold approximately 132,000 spectators, has an average total batting first of around 170–175. The first-batting team has won the game twice, while the chasing team has won it three times.
The team that wins the toss, though, will almost certainly prefer to hunt down a target rather than establish one because dew is expected to play a significant role.
Narendra Modi Stadium India Record
At the Narendra Modi Stadium, India has so far competed in six games. Four games have been won and two have been lost by the Men in Blue.
India’s first T20I match at this location was against Pakistan in 2012. That game was won by India by 11 runs. Following that, in March, India played host to England for a five-match T20 series in Ahmedabad. India swept the series with three victories.
India recorded the highest score on this field with 224. The field is a batter’s paradise, as bowlers receive very little assistance.
