Latest Records Broken by WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble

Several records were broken in this year’s WWE Royal Rumble. According to reports, Royal Rumble 2023 have created All-time Royal Rumble Gate record at $7.7M+, surpassing the Royal Rumble record made in 2017 by more than 50 percent. Viewership of Royal Rumble 2023 was up by 52 percent as compared to the previous record set in 2022.

Compared to 2022, Merchandise sales were up by 135 percent. The sponsorship revenue of Royal Rumble 2023 was nearly up by 200 percent vs record set in 2022. The event also featured the first ever sponsored match.

Also, according to reports, Royal Rumble 2023 became the highest-grossing and most-viewed Royal Rumble in WWE’s history.

On social media, Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns videos received more than 20 Million views across all WWE social media handles. It also became the most-watched WWE video of 2023.

Royal Rumble 2022 was held on January 29 in St. Louis, Missouri at The Dome at America’s Center and the main event was the 30-man Royal Rumble Match. On the Other hand, Royal Rumble 2023 was held on January 28 in San Antonio, Texas at Alamodome, and the main event featured a match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.

The winner of 2022 Royal Rumble Matches were, Women’s – Ronda Rousey (28) and Men’s – Brock Lesnar (30). While, the winner of 2023 Royal Rumble Matches were Women’s – Rhea Ripley (1) and Men’s – Cody Rhodes (30).

The WWE 2023 Royal Rumble also featured the making of several records, such as Gunther set a new record for longest time in Men’s Royal Rumble Match ( more than one hour and 11 minutes) and Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley set a new record for longest time in Women’s Royal Rumble Match ( more than 1 hour and 1 min).
