Beterbiev wants to fight Bivol too

Beterbiev, bleeding after Tkoing Yarde, insisted that the fight with Bivol would be an immediate classic. Meanwhile, Carl Moretti of promoters Top Rank added extra meat to the bone, saying: “Bivol is the biggest fight you can make. A good job. It’s one of the sport’s biggest fights.”

“I like when mandates arise, but when you have a full unification between two fighters of that caliber, we’ll get in touch with Bivol’s manager and attempt to set up this fight as the next one. The only hesitation I could imagine would be if he had been promised Canelo, but Bivol is a true fighter.”

Bivol’s aspirations for a rematch with Canelo, whether at light-heavyweight once more or for the Mexican’s undisputed super-middleweight title, are undoubtedly a roadblock, as Moretti points out. Canelo continues to be the biggest brand in the sport, which entails a significant paycheck in addition to the competitive appeal.
