PSL 2023 Schedule: PSL Season 8 – The Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday announced the schedule for Pakistan Super League’s 8th edition. The PSL 2023 will get underway on Monday, February 13 with Lahore Qalandars facing Multan Sultans in the opening match of the PSL 2023 at the picturesque Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday, 13 February. During the launch of the PSL 8 edition, the announcement regarding Pakistan Women’s League was also made. The league will take place during the PSL 8 season when three exhibition matches will be played in the lead-up to the men’s matches in Rawalpindi on 8, 10 and 11 March.

Lahore Qalandars are targeting to retain the title this season. The Qalandars had defeated Multan Sultans by 42 runs in the final last year. On the other hand Islamabad United are attempting to make history by becoming the first side to lift the glittering trophy thrice.

The 34-match PSL 8 will be played in two legs. The Multan Cricket Stadium and National Bank Cricket Arena will host matches from 13-26 February. The matches at Gaddafi Stadium and Pindi Cricket Stadium will be played from 26 February to 19 March. The second leg will also include the Qualifier, two Eliminators and the final.

More than 36 foreign players representing 10 T20I playing countries will be taking part in the tournament.  Babar Azam will lead 2017 winners Peshawar Zalmi for the first time; Imad Wasim will skipper 2020 winners Karachi Kings.

Shadab Khan will captain two-time champions Islamabad United; Shaheen Shah Afridi will captain Lahore Qalandars; Mohammad Rizwan will skipper Multan Sultans and Sarfaraz Ahmed will captain 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators.
