ILT20 and WWE Belts

The organisers have placed a heavy emphasis on integrating unique ideas and concepts across the International League T20 in an effort to make it one of the most inventive leagues in the world.

In its first season, the ILT20 has introduced five sets of belts: the Green Belt, White Belt, Black Belt, Red Belt, and Blue Belt. The player with the most runs at the end of the competition will be given the Green Belt, while the player with the most wickets will acquire the White Belt.

The Green and White Belts will be passed from player to player as and when the cricketers reach the top of the highest scoring and highest wicket-taker list, respectively, during the league in an effort to keep the fans talking and the players aiming higher.

A player who reaches the top of those lists is awarded the Belt at the conclusion of the match. And he then appears for an interview while sporting the Belt proudly slung over his shoulder.

Robin Uthappa Green Belt

At the ILT20, Dubai Capitals’ Robin Uthappa became the first player to acquire the Green Belt after his outstanding 79-run, 46-ball performance against Gulf Giants on Monday (January 16) at the Dubai International Stadium. With 122 runs in the competition so far, Uthappa is now at the top of the list of highest run-getters.

The coveted Black Belt will be given to the owner of the successful team after the winning team has lifted the gorgeous ILT20 tournament trophy. The league’s most valuable player will also be honoured and presented with the spectacular Red Belt during the presentations in recognition of his consistently gratifying efforts in front of the public.

The Blue Belt, which will be awarded to the best UAE player at the end of the season, will be up for grabs among the 24 players who were personally chosen to play in the league.
