In 2022, Shreyas had amazing outing in the ODIs. He scored his maiden ODI hundred against South Africa in October and scored at a rapid pace quite prolifically against every opponent. The right-handed batter scored 724 runs in just 15 innings. He amassed these runs at a strike rate of 91 with his average being 55.69. Iyer also stroked six fifties and one century.

To note, India did not pick Suryakumar Yadav in the first ODI encounter. Yadav heads into the ODI series after having smashed his 3rd T20I century — 51-ball 112 not out in the 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka on Sunday. However, the 32-year-old has not managed to be consistent in the ODI format, scoring 4 single-digit scores in his last 5 innings in the 50-over format.
