WIPL 2023 Auction: Women’s IPL – The Women’s Indian Premier League (WIPL) is set to hold its inaugural auction for the 2023 season. Women players will go under the hammer just like their male counterparts. WIPL first’s auction’s base price has been divided into five categories. Ranging from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh. Players who have been capped may choose a base price from the Rs 30 lakh, Rs 40 lakh, or Rs 50 lakh categories and uncapped players may register in the Rs. 10 and Rs. 20 lakh categories. An auction might take place in early February and players’ registration deadline is January 26.
Big stars like Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are likely to sign up for the Rs 50 lakh category. Former India captain Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami have also shown a desire to compete in the tournament’s first edition.

- Like the Men’s IPL, the WIPL will also have a player auction.
- The base prices of all players have been set from Rs. 10 lahks to Rs. 50 lakh
- Capped players can choose a base price from 30 Lakh to 50 lahks.

A tender for the right to own and manage a team in the WIPL was released by the BCCI. For a non-refundable charge of Rs. 50 lakh, the “invitation to tender” (ITT) would be made available. Purchases of the ITT can be made until January 23.
The Wankhede, DY Patil, and Brabourne stadiums in Mumbai are expected to host the tournament after successfully staging the recent T20I series against Australia.
The Women’s IPL 2023 auction will be an interesting event to watch and it will be interesting to see which players are bought by which teams. Teams will need to make sure that they have enough money in their purse to buy the players they want, and will also have to be strategic in their bidding process.
