Badminton Calendar 2023: BWF Tour 2023 promises to be a game-changer. The upcoming season will kickstart with the Malaysia Open. The tournament is scheduled to begin on 15th January. This is also an Olympic qualification year. Players will be keen to participate in as many tournaments as they could to secure spots in the quadrennial event. The sport is all set to expand its footprint to many more countries in 2023. Canada and Finland are set to host upgraded events on a big scale for the first time. The annual Canada Open has been upgraded this year. From a Super 300 event, it is becoming a Super 500 event for the first time. With this, the tournament is set to attract top players in the world. Meanwhile, Finland will host its biggest World Tour event this year. With these events, audiences in North America and Europe are likely to get even more invested in the sport. The qualification for the Paris 2024 is also set to begin from May . Olympic qualification would add spice to the BWF Tour in 2023.

Canada Open is an annual tournament of the BWF World Tour. This year, the new upgraded tournament will attract a top field. Canada’s world-class youngsters too will get an opportunity to test themselves against the very best. Followed by the tournament, the US Open too has been scheduled in early July.

Although it remains a Super 300 event, its scheduling just after the Canada Open will ensure a high-level draw. It gives audiences the opportunity to watch top stars in action.

Meanwhile, after hosted the BWF Sudirman Cup 2021, Finland is set to host the Artic Open Super 500 event. The event will be held in Vantaa in October.

The other upgraded events in the coming year are Malaysia Open, India Open and Singapore Open. The season will begin with the Super 1000 Malaysia Open in January. It will be followed by the India Open, which is a Super 750 event. The Indonesia Masters (Super 500) and the Thailand Masters (Super 300) will keep the World Tour going through January and early February.

The European leg starts with the German Open on 7 March. It will be followed by the All England on 14 March. Events like Swiss Open, Madrid Spain Masters and the Orleans Masters are also lined up one after the other. All the last three events are Super 300 events. The BWF World Championships 2023 will be held in Copenhagen, making it the fifth time that the event has been hosted in the city.
