Pele Death: Pele Passes Away – One of the greatest footballers of all time, Pele breathed his last in the late hours of Thursday. The three-time FIFA World Cup winner had a long battle with illness before his death. The Brazilian legend had been in intensive care for the past couple of months, even spending Christmas in a hospital in Sao Paulo. Indian cricketers, former and current alike, paid their respects to Pele, who breathed his last on Thursday. The Brazilian football legend succumbed to his prolonged battle with cancer at the age of 82. Arguably the greatest of all time, Pele leaves behind an unmatched legacy having won three World Cup titles with Brazil.
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag were amongst the first to pay their homage to the fallen king. Sehwag dubbed the late Brazilian among the greatest sportspersons to have ever graced the planet.

India speedster Jasprit Bumrah also chimed in with his tribute. The Mumbai Indian star, wrote ‘RIP Pele. An inspiration around the world, a global icon, a legend.’
