IND SL T20: Team India is set to take on SriLanka in a three-match T20I series starting on January 3. BCCI recently announced the squad for the series. IND SL T20Axar Patel is the lead contender to take the all-rounder’s spot in the absence of Jadeja. In 2022, Axar played a total of 22 T20I matches. The left-arm spinner took a total of 21 wickets and bowled at an economy rate of 8.17. With the bat, he scored 93 runs at a decent strike rate of 138.80. Just like Jadeja, Axar bowls left-arm spin and can come very handy during the middle-overs. Axar can also hit a long ball with the bat which can come crucial in the death overs.

Deepak Hooda made his T20I debut this year only. The right-handed batter played his maiden 20-over game against SriLanka but did not get a chance to bat. However, Hooda grabbed all the limelight after he stroked his maiden T20I century in a game against Ireland. The 27-year-old played his last T20 game against NewZealand.
Hooda has some extraordinary numbers in 20-over format. He has played 15 games and scored 302 runs at an excellent strike-rate of 150. He averages 33.56 in the shortest format of the game. With the ball, he has grabbed just five wickets but bowls at an astonishing economy rate of 4.58.

Washington Sundar made his T20I debut way back in 2017. However, the spin all-rounder has not been able to cement his place in the Indian squad so far. Sundar was a part of the Indian contingent which NewZealand in a T20I series earlier this year. The 23-year-old played his first and only T20I match this year in the same tour. Sundar can be quite handy with the new ball and has the ability to clear the ropes. The young all-rounder will want to do his best in the upcoming series against SriLanka.
