Harmanpreet Kaur will lead a full-strength squad as India begins their t20 World Cup in February. Mandhana continues as Kaur’s deputy in the 15-man squad. Sabbhineni Meghana, Sneh Rana and Meghna Singh have been named as reserves. Sneh Rana is the big omission with the selectors going with Radha Yadav and Deepti Sharma. Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues eke out Meghana.
Anjali Sarvani starred in her debut series thus pushing Meghna Singh out of the 15-man squad. The entire squad, including the reserves, will feature in the tri-series in South Africa in January.
Shushma Verma (wk) and Amanjot Kaur are also part of the tri-series, serving as backups. India will miss Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh who have already joined the U19 World Cup squad. Pooja Vastrakar’s inclusion in both squads is subject to fitness.
