INDIA Squad SL Series – India vs Sri Lanka: India has an unparallel talent pool for cricket. Even for the best prospects, getting onto the senior national team has always been a herculean task. The situation with Prithvi Shaw has been similar. Shaw was again ignored by selectors for the three-match home T20 series against Sri Lanka. Shaw last played for India in July 2021. After the squad announcement, the young opener took to Instagram to share the words of Gaur Gopal Das. Check why BCCI is continuously ignoring Prithvi Shaw? The two squads were announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, December 27. Shaw was not chosen again, despite the fact that many had anticipated he would play for the team for at least in one series.
The selectors have regularly neglected the right-handed hitter. In July 2021, he played his last international cricket game against Sri Lanka. Even though he has excelled in domestic cricket, it appears that he has slipped in the pecking order since Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill came to prominence.
After the squad announcement, emotional Shaw took to Instagram and shared two posts. One consisted of poetry while the other was the wise words of Gaur Gopal Das.
In the said video of Gaur Gopal Das Prabhu, the saint is saying these things:
“If someone is smiling it doesn’t mean they are happy in their life. Happiness is never automatic, Problems are automatic.”
“One chooses Positivity, love, and Happiness. Anger, hate, and Negativity come automatically inside human beings.”
“To choose such things (Love, positivity), hence we have become human.”
Prithvi SHAW in blistering form
Notably, Prithvi Shaw is currently competing in the Ranji Trophy 2022–23 season. He hasn’t played well so far in the competition, though, scoring only 42 runs at an average of 10.50 in four innings.
However, this year’s white-ball domestic events saw a huge impact from the Mumbai batter. Shaw finished the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 217 runs from seven innings after smashing two brilliant half-centuries.

In 10 games for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year, Shaw scored 332 runs, including a century and a fifty. In the T20 competition, he led his squad in runs scored.
Why BCCI is continuously ignoring Shaw? Due to the team management’s decision to play in-form opener, Shubman Gill, for the shortest format as well, Prithvi Shaw is finding it hard to join India’s T20I squad.
