IPL 2023 LIVE: Australian star cricketer Glenn Maxwell could have lost his foot in a freak injury. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder broke his leg horribly at a friend’s 50th birthday party last month. The 34-year-old revealed that when he was on the ground in agony, he “felt every part of” the ensuing leg break. This horror injury has already ruled Maxwell out of the Big Bash League (BBL) and now his appearance in IPL Season 16 is also under doubt. Follow Indian Premier League 2023 LIVE with InsideSport.IN

IPL 2023: RCB allrounder Glenn Maxwell opens up on HORROR Injury, ‘could have lost my FOOT’, will he play IPL 2023? Check OUT
Maxwell was pretending to chase a friend when the friend fell across the cricketer’s leg.
The Aussie all-rounder revealed on Fox Cricket that the terrifying incident might have easily ended his career.
“I probably wasn’t that far off losing my foot which was pretty scary,” he said.
“To be able to be out the other side (now) and starting to walk again, it’s weird you sort of have to teach yourself how to walk.”
According to scans, Maxwell tore every ligament in his foot in addition to shattering his fibula and chipping his tibia.
In an effort to try and return in time for the end of the BBL season, Maxwell spoke about his recuperation and the loneliness he is experiencing.
“I’m starting to walk around a little bit more comfortable. Hopefully get rid of the crutches in a couple of days,” he said.
“Things are starting to look up.”
“(Wife Vini) has been an unbelievable support for me – basically my nurse for a month and a half taking care of me. (She’s) really helped me get through the last little bit.”

Maxwell disclosed earlier this month that his traumatic injury had already caused him to lose 5 kg.
The Australian all-rounder is devoting every available minute to his recovery plan even though he has no specific return date for playing.
While the Indian Premier League is expected to start in April, Maxwell is hopeful to return for that.
