IPL 2023 Auction: GOOD News for Mumbai Indians, Jofra Archer named in England Team in SouthAfrica series ahead of IPL 2023 – Check Out
Jofra Archer last appeared for England back in March 2021. He is set to feature for the Three Lions again after a span of almost 2 years. Last month Archer was selected as a wildcard entry in SA20 by the Mumbai Indians franchise. “He is recovering well from an elbow injury and is expected to return to international cricket in South Africa next month,” said the ECB via a media release.
The return of Archer to international cricket will be a huge boost to the MI squad. The most successful side in the history of the IPL missed the services of the English pacer and had a rather disastrous season. With Indian ace Jasprit Bumrah, the return of Archer among their ranks will be a major morale booster.
As fans patiently await to see the duo of Bumrah-Archer in the Indian Premier League, the wish might be granted. Jasprit Bumrah is currently recovering from his back injury and is likely to recover ahead of the IPL which is scheduled to commence in April 2023.

In November Englan skipper Ben Stokes was ecstatic with Archer’s return. Stokes, however, made it very clear that under no condition will Archer be rushed into the team. “He’s one of the superstars of the international game and it’s great to see him running back in, bowling fast and it’s really good to have him back around the group as well,” Stokes told Sky Sports.
“I think he’s just really excited to be back. He’s obviously had a long time off with injury and as exciting as it is we’ve got to be careful not to rush him back as we don’t want to see Jofra Archer on the sidelines for this amount of (time) again. That’s the plan, hopefully we can have Jofra fit and ready especially for the Ashes,” concluded Stokes.
The IPL mini-auction will take place on 23rd December in Kochi. The IPL will feature two broadcasters for the first time. JioCinema will have IPL 2023 LIVE Streaming while Star Sports Network will broadcast the IPL Auction LIVE on TV. Consequently, the course of events might vary. Mumbai Indians has a budget of Rs 20.55 Crore for this auction.
