Is Andrew Tate a chess player?
Emory Tate, Andrew Tate’s father, was a world chess champion. When he was younger, the TOP G participated in various competitions and began learning chess from his father. He discusses the life lessons he got from chess in a Fresh&Fit podcast.
“I had to learn chess because my father was a genius at the game. I spent a lot of time learning it after he sat me down. And I still have a great deal of respect for chess today. Chess is a wonderful game, and I still play it every day. I’m not at all a world-class athlete. I’m between 1750 and 1800. Since the 2021 episode of the podcast, Andrew hasn’t actively played chess. The rating on Andrew’s Chess.com profile right now is 1605.”
Andrew continues claiming that his father can defeat him without consulting the scoreboard. At age 5, TOP G won the chess state championship for Indiana. He acknowledged being in a newspaper as a child in a podcast and even posted a picture of it on Instagram.
