However, recently, the former WWE Champion gave an update on his in-ring return post-surgery. While speaking to These Urban Times, the 36-year-old mentioned he would learn more about his in-ring status till March 2023.
“I have to get some more scans at the one-year mark in March, and then we’ll see how everything’s looking, but we’ll see from there,” Big E said. “Yeah, yeah [excited to return], my C1 is broken in two spots, so I obviously would be very smart about that. I was very fortunate, so I just want to make sure I’m making the best decision for myself, so we’ll see in March.” [H/T Ringside News]
Although Big E hasn’t wrestled any match since his neck injury, he continued to participate in WWE’s exclusive events and recruitment camps. Earlier this year, he was present at the SummerSlam week alongside several WWE veterans. Also, he is consistently engaged in representing WWE on several occasions.

WWE News: Big E says he would be fine if his neck injury forces wrestling retirement
Earlier this year, Big E was featured in an interview with TMZ where he talked about various topics involving his neck injury. While speaking he was asked if he would accept his wrestling retirement, eventually, he answered ‘Yes’.

Big E said he worked for WWE for nearly 13 years and he is content with what he has achieved in his WWE career. He added he feels lucky he is not in a wheelchair after the scary botch and he has got a decent time to spend with his family and friends during his recovery. Further, he added Triple H calling him for a WWE tryout session for college athletes.
