NewZealand Tour of India – NewZealand Cricket Spark Sport: Ahead of NewZealand tour of India to play 3 ODI’s & 3 T20 Matches, bad news is coming for the Kiwi Cricket. The NZ based telecommunications company Spark has announced it will be shutting down its Spark Sport streaming service. The streaming service was built home of LIVE Cricket in NewZealand. But owing to increasing cost of content platform has decided to shut down. It is still not clear whether the streaming platform will showcase IND NZ Series LIVE or not: Watch IND vs NZ LIVE Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar & LIVE Updates with InsideSport.IN
Spark Sport was launched in 2019 and currently holds all NewZealand Cricket rights as well as BCCI Rights.
Three years on, the telecommunications firm has announced the service’s upcoming closure. The reason given for the closure is ‘increasing costs to content rights’, and a ‘broader range of investment opportunities across its business’.
Spark chief executive Jolie Hodson said: “It has been challenging to reach the scale we aspired to across the Spark Sport platform, with Covid causing major disruption to sporting codes globally just a year after launch.
“That slower than expected start, coupled with the escalating costs of content rights globally, makes it difficult to justify the type of investment Spark Sport requires when we have a wider range of investment opportunities across our broader business.”
