The match featured a number of different luminaries, including 2006 World Cup champions Alessandro Del Piero and Marco Materazzi. In addition, 2002 champs Roberto Carlos and Cafu showed up. But it wasn’t just prior winners who were present. The fortunate employees also shared the pitch with John Terry, Clarence Seedorf, and Michel Salgado. Former Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi also appeared in the game as a FIFA legend.

The match had the SC Secretary General and Qatar’s Minister of Labour in the crowd. According to FIFA, this: “presented further opportunity to showcase the strong, ongoing and joint commitment in relation to workers’ welfare that remains in place beyond the final whistle of the tournament.”
During the game, the president of the football regulatory body served as a referee for a brief period of time. And, never one to shy away from making headlines, Infantino issued a yellow card. Del Piero was the unhappy bearer, but the Juventus legend received it cheerfully. According to reports, “Team Yellow,” led by Roberto Carlos, won the friendly 2-0. However, no workers were recorded on the scoreboard. Eventually, Del Piero and Portugal icon Nuno Gomes scored.
