The 21-year-old had a dream of watching his favorite stars in action on the football pitch. His parents, Rahat and Nitin, who hail from Mumbai, did everything in their power to make their son’s dream come true.
They even booked a trip to Qatar as a gift from their end to Siddhanth on his 21st birthday.
Destiny had some other plans.
Siddhanth, whose happiness knew no bounds, was looking forward to being at the world’s greatest sporting spectacle.
On August 4 of this year, the youngster collapsed on the football field and died of a massive cardiac arrest. He was pursuing a B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) at the Jindal Global Law School. He was only 21.
Understandably, Siddhanth’s parents, relatives, and close friends were shell-shocked and shattered by his passing.
Both Rahat and Nitin, while enduring this highly emotional tide, didn’t give up on Siddhanth’s dream. They decided to pay tribute to their son.
Siddhanth was gone, but what wasn’t gone was the promise of ensuring that he watched the games he was scheduled to in Qatar.
Rahat and Nitin made their way to Qatar, and for every match they watched, they carried a couple of banners.
The first one read: “We love you, Siddhanth Beri.” You are with us today’, the other noted, ‘U, Us, United in Universe’.
Rahat, Siddhanth’s mother, reveals that they came all the way from India to Qatar to fulfill their son’s wish. According to her, Siddhanth was madly in love with sports. He was hugely passionate about squash, chess, and football. However, when it came to football, no other sport came close.
The whole Beri family was involved in football. Even their conversations used to be in and around the world’s most beautiful game. Siddhanth’s father, Nitin, revealed that during the holidays, the only thing his son used to talk to him about was football, and the topics revolved around the EPL.

Siddhanth’s favorite club and footballers
Like millions around the world, Siddhanth Beri was a massive fan of Manchester United. When it came to his favorite footballers, Siddhanth admired arguably two of the world’s greatest footballers at the moment: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The late youngster admired Ronaldo for his discipline and Messi for his sheer talent.
Apart from Messi and Ronaldo, Siddhanth also had huge admiration for Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata.

Siddhanth traveled to Russia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup
Watching the FIFA World Cup in Qatar wasn’t just a sudden decision for the Beris. Siddhanth had been to Russia four years ago to watch some games at the World Cup. What was unfortunate was that he never clicked pictures.
His mother adds that for Siddhanth it was all about enjoying the beauty of football. His parents, though bearing tremendous emotions in their minds and hearts, did the same in Doha.
Her mother was screaming, shouting, and cheering, just reliving all the memories as she celebrated him, and according to her, it was a fabulous feeling. The matches Siddhant’s parents saw mostly involved heavyweights like Argentina, Portugal, England, and France.
Siddanth’s parents not only soaked in the brilliance of each footballer but also reciprocated with thunderous applause, similar to what his son would have done had he been there with them.
“Their legacy, like yours, shall remain—untouched, unrivalled, and undiminished,” Nitin wrote in one of his posts on social media.
“Siddhanth was a gifted soul whose awareness level was quite high. We are proud to be his parents; so much value attaches to him. “It’s been 21 years full of love,” said Rahat.

All of the joys that football can bring to its fans cannot undo the pain that Siddhanth’s parents are experiencing right now. However, one can appreciate and applaud the efforts of these bereaved parents, who are doing everything they can to make their son happy who is sitting in the heavens and watching them from above.
Sports have the ability to not only unite people, but also to heal even the most difficult of pains in life. It is indeed true in Beri family’s case.
