WBC India: Boxing news: Hailing from Haryana, rising boxer Chandni Mehra claimed the WBC India super featherweight title by thrashing Muskan Srivastava unanimously for all eight rounds in a lopsided collision at Pune. It was Mehra’s first boxing title and she straight away put her hands on the iconic WBC strap. All three judges scored the contest 72-80, 71-80, 71–80 for Chandni Mehra. Chandni Mehra and Muskan Srivastava collided for the first time back in 2020 at Jaipur, which went in favor of the Haryanvi boxer. Mehra beat an undefeated Muskan Srivastava back then, who went on a losing spree after the maiden defeat. Following the first career defeat against Chandni Mehra, Srivastava lost to Rupinder Kaur and Geeta Solanki in 2021.

Upon returning against Chandni Mehra for the WBC title, Muskan failed to change her fate again. Meanwhile, Chandni Mehra is already the best female featherweight boxer from India.

According to Box Rec, she is globally ranked 77th, which can see a sharp rise soon. The 21-year-old now holds a 10-4 professional record and looks prominent to be a world title prodigy from India. On the contrary, Indore-based Muskan Srivastava’s 2-3 resume needs an immediate victory for lifeline. The female featherweight division for WBC India has several A-listed prodigies with Mehra currently sitting on the top.

Chandni Mehra made her pro-boxing debut in 2018 and fought four times in the year. Upon winning all of them, Mehra lost her first fight in March 2019, but bounced back against Shaik Nazreen in November of the same year. She has been thoroughly active since then.
