IND vs BAN Test series: Rohit Sharma to miss 1st Test, Mohammad Shami, Ravindra Jadeja RULED OUT, Navdeep Saini, Saurabh Kumar named replacements, Rahul to lead in Chattogram – Check details

India Squad Bangladesh Test Series: India captain Rohit Sharma consulted a specialist in Mumbai after injuring his left thumb during the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. He has been advised of appropriate management for this injury and will not be available for the first Test against Bangladesh. The BCCI Medical Team will take a call on his availability for the second and final Test at a later stage. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Abhimanyu Easwaran as his replacement for the first Test.

India squad Bangladesh Test: Who is in and who is out?

  • Captain Rohit Sharma is out of the 1st Test. he is also doubtful for the 2nd test.
  • Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami are also ruled out.
  • Saurabh Kumar and Navdeep Saini come in as replacements.
  • Jaydev Unadkat is added to the squad.
  • Abhimanyu Easwaran is brought in as cover for Rohit.
  • KL Rahul will lead the team in Rohit’s absence.

Fast bowler Mohammad Shami and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are yet to fully recover from their respective injuries and are ruled out of the Test series. Jadeja last played for India in July, while Shami had travelled to Bangladesh before his injury. The latter is at the NCA working on his rehabilitation.

The selectors have named Navdeep Saini and Saurabh Kumar as replacements for Shami and Jadeja respectively. The selection committee has also added fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat to India’s squad for the Test series. Jaydev Unadkat joins the team after helping Saurashtra to the Vijay Hazare Trophy last month. Meanwhile, Saurabh Kumar, Navdeep Saini and Abhimanyu Easwaran are already in Bangladesh as part of the India A series.
