Croatia advanced to the tournament’s semi-finals after defeating Brazil on penalties in one of the most dramatic FIFA World Cup games of this season. Neymar broke the deadlock in the first half of extra time to give Brazil the lead after the game was scoreless after 90 minutes. The joy, however, was short-lived, as Bruno Petkovic equalised with three minutes remaining. Rodrygo missed the first penalty shootout effort for Brazil, and Marquinhos missed the deciding shot, as Croatia won 4-2.
