The DC coach made the remarks on first Day of the Test match between Australia and West Indies. Ponting told Australia head coach Andrew McDonald that he wanted to quickly shift the conversation to the upcoming IPL auction and ask him if he knew about Green’s availability at the league next summer.
“I am really interested to have an IPL conversation with you about Cam Green because I have freed up a fair bit of money at the Delhi Capitals this year,” Ponting told McDonald.

Green had performed admirably well during the India vs Australia bilateral series when the Aussies came to tour the subcontinent before the T20 World Cup.
Speaking about Green’s numbers in T20I format, the 23-year-old has played eight games and has scored 139 runs at an astonishing strike-rate of 173.75. In his two games, Green has already stroked two fifties. With the ball, he has scalped five wickets so far. However, his economy is on a higher side at 8.9.
