IND vs NZ: Shardul Thakur chills with Dhawan and Iyer, enjoys off day before the series decider in Christchurch – Thakur shares a close friendship with Iyer and Dhawan. The pacer made sure to chill on the off day and recharge his batteries ahead of the series decider in Christchurch on November 30. While the all-rounder did not have the best of the day with the ball in hand, Iyer and Dhawan hit fifties in the first ODI. With World Cup 2023 on focus, Shradul needs to find form quickly.
IND vs NZ: Why is Shardul Thakur’s spot in India team in jeopardy?
- Thakur has failed to find the right template in the ODI format. He has played 28 ODIs and has picked up 40 wickets with a high average of 34.1.
- The Mumbai pacer has the worst economy rate among Indian bowlers to have played a minimum of 10 ODIs. Thakur concedes 6.45 runs per over.
- With the bat in hand also the pacer has failed to justify his hitting prowess,
- With Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Siraj waiting in the pipeline, Thakur may well be overlooked if he does not take wickets regularly.
