The series will see the Australian players come to India on the back of the ongoing 8th edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (W-BBL) which has its final scheduled for the 26th of November. India on the other hand, will come to the series following their ongoing domestic fixtures and an eye will be on the squad BCCI will announce as many lost Indian internationals and a few youngsters put up strings of impressive performances.

Eyeballs will remain on Australia’s squad announcement as well, as the side’s regular skipper, Meg Lanning, is on a break away from the game and thus far it is learnt to be newly appointed, vice-captain, Alyssa Healy who’ll be leading the side. But that isn’t it, Australia will no longer have the services of ever-dependable, Rachael Haynes as she’s announced her retirement from the game and in adding more insult to injury, Australia’s most recent blow had come in Sophie Molineux’s injury.

The series will be a very crucial one for both sides as the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup looms that’s scheduled to be played early next year in South Africa from the 10th to the 26th of February.

While Australia post their tour of India plays a white-ball series against Pakistan in their lead-up to the South Africa World Cup, India is scheduled to play South Africa and the West Indies in a T20I Tri-Series in East London from the 19th of January to the 2nd of February 2023 which serves the visitors a perfect build-up.
