Israel Adesanya was stopped and detained for a brief period on Wednesday after attempting to get through airport security with brass knuckles. According to Port Authority police, “the former UFC champion was arrested at about 1:57 p.m. ET today at JFK Terminal for having metal knuckles.” TMZ was the source of the initial tip of Adesanya’s arrest.
In a statement to MMA Fighting, Tim Simpson, Adesanya’s manager at Paradigm Sports Management, said that the former UFC champion had already been released and was returning to New Zealand. This came after Adesanya lost his UFC middleweight crown to Alex Pereira at UFC 281 and was medically suspended by the promotion,

This represents 42.3% of his total fan base. With an estimated 3.9 million bogus followers, UFC legend Anderson Silva ranks second on the list. Due to the possibility of 38% of his 7.5 million followers being false, “The Spider” also stands to lose a lot.
