“There is nothing that would indicate to me that he himself is likely to further endanger the victim if he’s granted bail,” she said.
“There would be a substantial incentive for him on many levels to comply with this bail and not leave the country,” said the Judge.

Gunathilaka was taken into custody at the Hyatt Regency on Sussex Street in the wee hours of November 6 before the Sri Lankan squad left for home without him following their defeat to England in the T20 World Cup Super 12 match.
After being denied bail at Downing Center Local Court on November 7, Gunathilaka was held for 11 nights. His legal representatives have submitted a bail application to the NSW Supreme Court, and a hearing has been set for December 8.
He has been charged with four counts of sexual intercourse without consent after allegedly sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman on November 2 in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, just days after their Tinder match. There are no entered pleas.
