With more tests, they concluded that some tissues on her right leg were dead and therefore the only way to save the life of the young girl was to amputate her leg. on 9th November, the doctors decided to amputate her right leg.

A third surgery was carried out on 14th November where further dead tissues were removed following which she remained on a ventilator. However, there was no improvement on her condition and she passed away the next day with multi-organ failure.

Despite intensive care, including dialysis through the night, her condition deteriorated,” said RGGGH dean Dr E Theranirajan.
