Lipa, meanwhile, said that she will be supporting Harry Kane’s England at the global showpiece event. But also highlighted that she will not visit Qatar until it fulfills the basic human right pledges.

The singer-cum-songwriter was indicating at the treatment of the migrant workers who built the stadiums for the FIFA WC 2022 and criminalisation of same-sex relationships.
“There is currently a lot of speculation that I will be performing at the opening ceremony of the world cup in Qatar. I will not be performing and nor have I ever been involved in any negotiation to perform,” Lipa issued a statement issued on Instagram
“I will be cheering England on from afar and I look forward to visiting Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup.”

Who are the other performers expected at FIFA WC Opening Ceremony?
Nora Fatehi, Colombian sensation Shakira are expected to be among the performers at the mega concert.
Canadian and Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi, who gained prominence with her work in the Indian film industry, has also featured in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Soundtrack ‘Light The Sky’.
The ‘Waka Waka’ singer, meanwhile, will be accompanied by a variety of other artists with Dua Lipa and the popular Korean K-Pop group, BTS, expected to be a part. While it will not be the first performance for Shakira at the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony to make their debut.
Black Eyed Peas, J Balvin and Nigerian music sensation Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie are among the artists to perform at the opening ceremony. However, FIFA is yet to confirm the list of performers for the event, which will take place ahead of the inaugural fixture between hosts Qatar and Ecuador in Group A.
