The Iranian, who is popularly known as Sultan is one of the foreign players wo has made the most impact in the tournament so far. Fazel, who is the captain of the Puneri Paltan this year went past Manjeet Chhillar’s tally of 391 tackle points last week in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9.
On Wednesday, he was playing his 133rd match and started the contest against Tamil Thalaivas with 398 tackle points to his name. This was an important game for Fazel and Puneri Paltan as just two days ago, the team lost against the same opposition. Ahead of the match, Fazel said, “I am 100% sure that we will beat them in the upcoming match.”

However, the team trailed behind right from the start and pressure was on Fazel and Puneri Paltan to deliver. Fazel notched up his 400th tackle point within the first half of the contest by tackling Tamil Thalaivas’ raider Narender Hoshiyar and created the history. However the Iranian was not satisfied with it and guided his team to a terrific 35-34 victory in a nail-biting contest.
Fazel went on o pick up a High 5 in the contest as the victory made his feat even more memorable in front of the team’s home crowd at the Sri Shivchhatrapathi Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune. With the victory the team is also maintaining its top spot on the points table.
After achieving the 400 raid points, Fazel now doesn’t have a much of a competition as the closest defender to him, who is still active as a player is Sandeep Narwal with 348 points to his name.
