FIFA WC Netherlands Squad: Netherlands World Cup –After missing out on the 2018 World Cup, The Oranje Army is back in full force and will be part of the 2022 World Cup. After being the runners-up in 2010 and just losing out to Iniesta’s goal in extra time, and finishing 3rd in the next edition in Brazil, it was quite surprising to see them miss out on the World Cup in Russia, but they have since steadied the ship and have booked their place in Qatar. Under the stewardship of Louis Van Gaal, the Dutch team have risen from the dead after their embarrassing miss in the 2018 World Cup. They have started playing attractive football again and have also shifted their team from the old guard to the new one. Their team is filled with a combination of experienced guard and young, exciting talent, which gives them the perfect edge as they try to leave their mark this year.
They have quite a lot of depth as well across the pitch and should one of their starting players miss out, due to suspensions or injuries, they could field another player who could make a big difference for them.

TEAM NEWS
The Dutch team has always been one which has been stacked with a lot of quality, in most positions, if not all, and this time is no exception. Starting from the back, their CB position is locked and loaded by the looks of things, as they have Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk and FC Bayern Munich’s Mathijs De Ligt. Even their first-choice fullbacks, Malacia and Dumfries, who play for Manchester United and Inter Milan respectively, have begun the 22/23 season on the right note.

He should be partnered by Ryan Gravenberch at the base of midfield. Cody Gakpo has been balling at PSV Eindhoven, with 24 G/A in just 18 games and he should be starting on the left of the attack. Depay should be leading the attack from the top and either one of Bergwijn or Berghuis should play on the right.

INJURY LIST
Georginio Wijnaldum is expected to miss the mega event as he injured his leg during training for AS Roma in August and is expected to make his return in January 2023. His talent and expertise will be missed, but the Oranje do have enough quality on board to replace him. Apart from him, there doesn’t seem to be any notable injury to their players, so far.
