“Jay and Roger both will be there along with Ashish (Shelar) in Melbourne. They will attend the final after the ICC meeting on November 13,” a BCCI official told InsideSport.
Sourav Ganguly is also expected to attend the final. He will be in Melbourne as the head of ICC’s Cricket Committee.

Discussion on PCB’s threat: BCCI and PCB officials will also meet on the sidelines of the ICC meeting. With the recent exchange of words between two board officials on India not visiting Pakistan for the Asia Cup, they are expected sort their differences. PCB threatened to pull out of 2023 World Cup. ICC will now try to sway both parties.
“Obviously, there will be exchanges. But see, as we said multiple times, visiting Pakistan is not in our hands. It is up to the government of India. Plus, the political situation in Pakistan is already tense. You saw the recent attempt on Imran Khan. If a former PM and beloved cricketer can be attacked who says the visiting team won’t be? It’s not really safe at the moment. But yes, there will be dialogues for 2023 WC,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
But Shah and Binny’s visit to Melbourne will be dominated by ICC Elections proceedings. During the annual meeting, ICC will hold its elections for the chairman role.

- ICC Elections will take place during ICC’s Annual Meeting on November 12-13 in Melbourne.
- Incumbent Greg Barclay is the overwhelming favourite to retain his post.
- Tavengwa Mukuhlani, who is also in ICC’s Audit Committee and chair of the Membership Committee, has managed support.
- Deputy chair Imran Khwaja filed his nomination but had to withdraw after failing to garner support.
- While BCCI hasn’t made it clear who it will support in the elections, the Indian board is expected to support Barclay.
- BCCI did not back Sourav Ganguly for the post.
- N Srinivasan and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur were the other two potential candidates.
- But they did not come forward due to various reasons.
- As Ganguly has not been backed by any, BCCI sort of supported Barclay.
- New BCCI President Roger Binny besides Jay Shah and Treasurer Ashish Shelar will be present at the ICC meeting.
ICC T20 World Cup FINALS:
Before the mega final on November 13 at the MCG, the two semifinals will be played on Nov 9 and 10. NewZealand will take on Pakistan in 1st semifinal at Sydney on Nov 9 while India face England in the other at Adelaide.
