Following the hotly contested affair, India batter Virat Kohli showcased an incredible gesture. He visited the dining area and gifted his own bat to Litton Das to show his appreciation for his 27-ball 60-run knock. Later, Bangladesh cricket team manager Rabeed Imam confirmed it.
“When we were sitting in the dining hall, Virat Kohli came and gifted a bat to Litton. According to me, it was a moment of inspiration for Litton. Litton is a class batter. We have seen him play classical shots. He is a brilliant player in Tests and ODIs. Recently, he has started playing well in T20Is as well,” Bangladesh Cricket Board chief Jalal Yunus told BDcrictime Bangla.

Bangladesh lost their Super 12 encounter against India in the T20 World Cup recently despite Liton Das’s exquisite innings. The batter would’ve felt hard done by for not coming away with a win but he did leave the Adelaide Oval with a gift to treasure. The sheer brilliance of Liton’s 27-ball 60 commanded the admiration of all alike. Kohli, one of the greats of the game, was among them.

For India and Virat Kohli though, the focus shifts to Zimbabwe match. While Zimbabwe are likely to be out of semi-final contention by the time they take the field in Melbourne. The same can’t be said for India as Rohit Sharma’s side seek a top-two finish in Group 2 and a place in the knockout stages of the tournament.
Zimbabwe have already shown their class by upsetting Pakistan at the T20 World Cup. Ervine now wants his players to do similar when they take on India in front of a crowd that is expected to nudge close to 90,000 at the MCG.
