“As soon as we announced street names after cricketers, inquiries doubled,” property developer Varun Sharma was quoted as saying by SBS Hindi back in 2020.

Now with the ICC T2o World Cup taking place in Australia, these streets now are a major attraction for fans and tourists who have visited the country to watch this mega tournament. Apart from Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, VVS Laxman, or Sachin Tendulkar, these streets have been named after other legends like Steve Waugh, Gary Sobers, Richard Hadlee, and others.
More surprises are paved in the neighbouring streets of Rockbank, a suburb of Melbourne. About 600 metres from Kohli Crescent is a street called Tendulkar Drive. All the streets in this neighborhood have been named after top international cricketers,

City of Melton Mayor, Cr Lara Carli, was quoted as saying in 2020, “Street names in our city are usually submitted by developers and approved by Council if they meet Office of Geographic Names guidelines. It seems these cricket-themed names are already popular with cricketer fans in our community and beyond.”
