However, after a span of 8 years, the WWE Hall of Famer made his return to the squared ring for the final match at Crown Jewel 2018. Recently, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone talked about the current topics of professional wrestling when he mentioned Shawn Michaels’ Crown Jewel match. While speaking on the “What Happened When” podcast, Conrad Thompson noted Shawn Michaels’ payout with an estimated amount $3 million for his final match alongside Triple H against the Brothers of Destruction.
“I do think it’s interesting that this is Shawn Michaels’ last match. He got paid a fu*k ton of money here, millions of dollars. WWE Crown Jewel: What happened in the match between Shawn Michaels and Triple vs Brothers of Destruction?
Shawn Michaels and Triple H competed in a tag team match against The Undertaker and Kane. The match featured the Heartbreak Kid in an intense match against the Brothers of Destruction. Although the match featured WWE’s top veterans, fans gave negative reviews and called it a poorly booked match.

The match featured two botches where Triple H suffered an injury resulting in post-match surgery. On the other hand, Shawn Michaels knocked off Kane’s mask during the match. Eventually, the match ended up in a win for DX-Generation after a hardcore battle pinning The Undertaker’s kayfabe brother Kane with a superkick and Pedigree.
