Ansu Fati had only started 2 games for Barcelona this season. Fati had missed a staggering 35 games due to injury last year. This has left Xavi cautious in using him too much so far. On top of that, restrengthening of the flanks last summer has given the coach numerous options like Memphis Depay to choose from, for the starting eleven.
However, the player’s representative Jorge Mendes feels lack of time is impacting Fati’s natural progress. According to Spanish media outlet Redioestadio Noche, Fati has threatened to move out of Catalonia if his playing time does not improve.

The 19-year-old is already wanted by various European sides. Newcastle United has been interested in signing the La Masia graduate. The newly financed team is looking to build a balanced team instead of splurging money on big moves. Adding Ansu Fati to their squad will prove to be productive in the long term.
Even though Xavi has largely excluded the teenager from starting lineups, he has been a constant substitute for the coach in every match. He has registered 3 goals with Barca this season which moves his all-over tally to 22 goals in just 73 appearances. The forward had recently extended his contract till 2027 with the Blaugranas. The Catalan club has been vocal about their long-term goal for the new number 10. However, Jorge Mendes certainly has the power to arrange a move away from Spain.
