As the Government of India is set to deny permission to Team India to travel to Pakistan, BCCI will request the Asian Cricket Council to move Asia Cup 2023 out of Pakistan. BCCI also clarified that there will be no bilateral tour until 2027.
“Neutral venue for Asia Cup is not unprecedented and we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan. I have decided that we will play at a neutral venue,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the president of the ACC, said after the AGM.
“At the moment, travelling to Pakistan is out of the equation. The government will only give us permission if it’s an ICC event. So, travelling to Pakistan for Asia Cup is unlikely to materialise. We are already discussing if a change in venue is possible for Asia Cup and we will request the ACC to move the tournament out,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.

“The PCB is now prepared to take hard decisions and play hard ball because it is also aware that the ICC and ACC events will have to face commercial liabilities and losses if Pakistan does not play India in these multi-team events,” a senior PCB source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
“We have nothing to say at the moment but yes we will look at things and take up this matter at appropriate forums like the ICC board meeting in Melbourne next month,” a spokesperson said. However it has been learnt that PCB Chairman Raja and other senior officials were very upset with the announcement by Jay Shah that India would not travel to Pakistan next year and had decided to take some hard decisions now.

“The PCB officials are surprised at the timing of Jay Shah’s statement because there is still nearly a year to go before the Asia Cup is held in Pakistan in September 2023,” one insider said.
“The PCB is wondering in what capacity has Jay Shah given the statement that the ACC will look to relocate the Asia Cup to UAE out of Pakistan because the hosting rights were awarded by the executive board of the ACC not the President,” the PCB source said.
“One option under consideration will be to pull out of the ACC as the PCB believes the ACC was formed to promote and develop cricket in the region and forge unity among the member nations. But the President of the ACC is going to give statements like these, there is no use for Pakistan to remain in the body,” he added.
Pakistan has hosting Rights of Asia Cup 2023 so if India isn’t coming to Pakistan, we shouldn’t travel to India for Next World Cup that’s it. Wake up call for Rambo and stakeholders #Cricket

It is no surprise that tensions are always high between the two arch-rival nations. With Asia Cup returning to its traditional 50-over format in Pakistan, the BCCI will request the ACC to move the tournament to a neutral venue much to the dismay of Pakistan. As for the mega ICC 2023 tournament, India will host the competition as it did in 2011.
My request to @iramizraja if India doesn’t travel for #AsiaCup2023 to Pakistan then PAK shall also refuse to travel to India for #CWC2023 World Cup in October next year pic.twitter.com/iSRRQBe3cO
