Kohli was seen practicing with the Pakistan team while playing a number of cuts and pull shots. He faced throwdowns in the nets to get used to the pace of the opposition quicks, while also stepping out of his crease on the instance.

Kohli had a bit of a break before returning to action on Monday. The 33-year-old had missed the last T20I vs South Africa and did not feature in either of the warm-up matches against Western Australia. Against the hosts, Kohli had a promising start but fell prey to a short ball ploy by Mitchell Starc for 19.

While Kohli did not have a productive outing with the bat, he made a difference with his outstanding fielding in the end overs. The 33-year-old put in an acrobatic dive to run out Australia captain Aaron Finch who was well set on 74. He then took a stunning one-handed catch at long-on to turn the tide in India’s favour.
